When I think of the mind, I look at it as a collection of flowing thoughts. Every waking moment we are always “thinking”. It is what makes us “conscious” and in many ways, it makes us human.
Ultimately it is the collection of thoughts that determine one’s happiness. Some thoughts are beneficial for one’s happiness and some are harmful for one’s happiness. If one is to be happy, one needs to think in ways that are beneficial, and this is the main focus of this website.
One amazing quality of the human mind is that it can watch itself think. Psychologists call this ability “metacognition”, but I prefer to use the much simpler description of “mind awareness”. In essence, it’s about watching one’s own thinking. It is a skill that some may need to discover and develop, but nevertheless, we all possess it. Later in this website, I will explain how to develop this skill of mind awareness, which will help you to change unhelpful thoughts.
